Editing Process/Programs
The programs we will use are Sony Vegas and possibly adobe after effects. We will use Sony Vegas because we both have this software and believe it is best for editing. It is advanced yet simple to use. It contains all the effects to customize it and works will all formats. Sony Vegas also allows you to render the project to whatever you want it be, i.e. MP4, AVI, and WMV. The benefits of this are, different formats have different benefits, e.g. AVI has very good quality however the file size is very large and will take a while to upload to YouTube. MP4 will have good quality and have a small file size allowing a quick upload to YouTube. We will use adobe after effects for visual graphics and effects e.g. someone hit by a car, or lightning, even rain. Sony Vegas is used for cutting and editing the videos together, putting everything together. We will both edit the project together and do separate parts and we will give feedback to each other on how to improve it. I don’t believe there are any downsides to using these programs as we both have experience with them and find them easy to use. If we do get stuck there are tutorials online to help guide us.

Rough cut of Coursework late. Marks may be deducted and/or parental contact will be made if it is not submitted ASAP.

Just a quick FYI. There is an editing workshop with a professional editor on Monday, February 22, 2010. It will be in H4 and you will miss lessons 1-4.
If you would like feedback from a professional editor, the person that who will be doing the workshop, it is IMPERATIVE that you have a rough cut done, eg exported file so he can critique it.
Last year, when this editor came in, he was able to help the two students earn 60/60 and 58/60 on their coursework.
This is very valuable.
Make sure the rest of the media class know.

Mike:
You still must submit two pieces of writing. Also, make sure you e-mail me your PowerPoint evaluation by April 19, 2010. Also, your blog will be moderated on that day. Thus, see my AS post on blog writing tips and PowerPoint tips. Follow the tips. If you are in a group or have a partner, and that person did not do an activity, make sure you do it yourself so you do not loose marks (Part of my moderation is awarding marks to students that only do the work).
